Hey guys! How’s it going? My name is Erin Michelle, I am the wine of Whiskey & Wine. A country duo born in the Caribbean waters of Roatan, Honduras. It’s a cute little story of two solo artists meeting for the first time onboard a cruise ship. I was flown out to meet a guy I had never met. We talked a bit prior to meeting on the ship, getting to know each other and going over music stuff. I sent him my songs, he diligently learned them, and I showed up one day, met him that afternoon, and then saw him again that night at our show. He didn’t even recognize me. I have a travel look, and a show look. There really isn’t an in between. When I met him that afternoon, I looked nothing like I did several hours later at our gig. It was kinda funny. I didn't find out until months later that he thought I was a guest. We had literally never met, never played together, and yet at the end of the night some lady walks up and asks how long we had been married. I told her slow down lady, I just met this guy 4 hours ago. It’s a relationship that lasted way longer than I anticipated, as it has been several years now, we are still making music and traveling the world. It has been pretty awesome. It of course has its ups and downs, but for the most part, it has been pretty awesome.
Fast forward to 2021. What a crazy several months it has been. The world is still trying to recover from this crazy year, the music industry is slowly but surely coming back, yet not fast enough for me, but it is getting there. We were used to playing 6 nights a week, waking up in a new country every few days. Now we are lucky to be playing 6 times a month, waking up in.. well, Oklahoma. Don’t get me wrong, I was born here, I love being home, but I also LOVE traveling and doing my thing. In the last few months we have been diligently working on booking shows, and trying to get the music thing going again. Sean (The Whiskey of Whiskey & Wine) has taken on a few jobs until we can get back to music full time. Oh! We also adopted a dog. Her name is Dolly Pawton, and she is the cutest, sweetest thing ever.
While we would love to go back to ships, we are waiting for the dust to settle a bit before heading back out to sea. In the meantime, I have decided to start a blog. In this blog I am going to write about the ins and outs of being a traveling musician and everything it entails. I want to talk about all the cool places we go, people we meet, amazing eateries we find along the way, and everything in between. I am sure there will be some cute stories about Miss Dolly’s adventures as well. She is currently napping while I write this.. What a RUFF life she has! I guess playing outside with her huge new stick really takes it out of her. I am also working on a plan to travel the US in my purple Jeep, and my super cute airstream. I don’t like leaving Dolly, I also get tired of living out of a suitcase.. So LIGHTBULB!! Why not take the house and the dog with us, plan a US tour, see the country, make the music, and have an amazing time doing it. Sounds like a great idea to me! I want to find bars, house parties, campsites, anywhere and everywhere that is up for some live music along the way. So that is what I am working on at the moment, while the world still tries to recover, and music slowly comes back. Feel free to find us on Facebook and give us a like! That way you can keep up with shows and happenings from Whiskey & Wine! We’d love to see you at one of our shows! That’s it for today with On the Road With Whiskey & Wine.
